چکیده

The reaction of levulinic acid production from glucose has a stage that requires high temperature and activation energy so in this catalyst is needed. required must have lewis site bronsted the acidity very influential for successful levulonic acid. Silica nickel phosphate catalysts sites Ni metal phosphoric silica groups. was measured using pyridine ammonia adsorption method center strength TGA-DTA base adsorption-desorption. uses gravimetric it can easily obtain amount total surface while shows actual catalyst, which real state when catalyzing catalyst's resistance to temperatures. These two methods measuring same disadvantage they cannot show know number sites.

Production of Levulinic Acid from Pennisetum alopecuroides in the Presence of an Acid Catalyst

The perennial grass Pennisetum alopecuroides was degraded using a conventional heating method with sulfuric acid. The effects of temperature (150 to 200 °C), reaction time (30 to 210 min), acid concentration (2% to 10%), and solid-liquid ratio (1:10 to 1:4) were optimized for P. alopecuroides hydrolysis. The production of levulinic acid was strongly affected by variations in these parameters. T...

Silica-supported sulfonic acids as recyclable catalyst for esterification of levulinic acid with stoichiometric amounts of alcohols

Converting biomass into value-added chemicals holds the key to sustainable long-term carbon resource management. In this context, levulinic acid, which is easily obtained from cellulose, is valuable since it can be transformed into a variety of industrially relevant fine chemicals. Here we present a simple protocol for the selective esterification of levulinic acid using solid acid catalysts. S...
